873 OLR Bill Analysis sSB 55 AN ACT CONCERNING THE BOATING SEASON FOR WYASSUP LAKE IN NORTH STONINGTON.
SUMMARY This bill sets the boating season on Wyassup Lake in North Stonington.
Specifically, it requires, regardless of any other state statutes, that Wyassup Lake be open to operating watercraft from the Saturday before Memorial Day to the Saturday after Labor Day weekend.
This would appear to preclude operating any watercraft (i.e.
all vessels, including paddlecraft) on the lake for the remainder of the year.
Current state law does not establish a specific boating season for Wyassup Lake, but regulations limit operating a vessel towing a water skier to between June 15 to the Sunday after Labor Day on the lake, and prohibit operating a vesseltowing awater skier betweentheislands and the east shore of the lake (Conn.
Agencies Regs., § 15-121-B16).
