Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Bill SB 592 specifically narrows down which condominiums can participate in the My Safe Florida Condominium Pilot Program by providing a clearer definition. It also removes the set funding amount for specific projects and emphasizes that only certain improvements will qualify for grant funds, ensuring they lead to measurable benefits like insurance discounts. This change matters because it aims to focus resources on effective mitigation efforts, ensuring that funds are allocated where they can have a tangible impact on improving safety against hurricanes.
