The amendment to Bill HB 1053 introduces new regulations concerning the distance retail vape shops and businesses serving alcohol must maintain from religious and educational institutions. Notably, it removes the ability for local governments to approve exceptions for such locations, centralizing control at the state level. This change is significant as it may limit local flexibility in zoning laws and could affect the placement of these businesses in relation to schools and places of worship, influencing community environments.
