AN ACT CONCERNING THE COMMISSARY IMPLEMENTATION PLAN FOR YOUTH IN DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION FACILITIES.

556 OFA Bill Analysis HB 5429 AN ACT CONCERNING THE COMMISSARY IMPLEMENTATION PLAN FOR YOUTH IN DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION FACILITIES.
SUMMARY:
Not later than July 1, 2024, the bill requires the Commissioner of Correction, in consultation with the Juvenile Justice Policy and Oversight Committee's subcommittee on the incarceration of children, to issue a report on the implementation and any recommendations, for changes to the commissary implementation plan.
The bill requires the report to be given to the committees of the General Assembly that have cognizance of matters relating to Appropriations, Children, and the Judiciary.
EFFECTIVE DATE:
Effective from passage BACKGROUND Section 127 of Public Act 23-204 requires the Department of Correction to develop and implement a youth commissary implementation plan.
