In the course of assisting in making rulings, entering judgments, imposing sentences, or reviewing cases, judicial assistants may incur the ill will of litigants, the accused, the convicted, and their associates and families, thus making judicial assistants and their spouses and children targets for acts of revenge.
This risk continues after judicial assistants leave their public service.
Disgruntled individuals may wait until the employment of a judicial assistant ends to commit an act of revenge.
If such identifying and location information is released, the safety of current or former judicial assistants and their spouses and children could be seriously jeopardized.
