What changed in the latest version
71 added · 64 removedPlain-language change summary
The updated version of SB 268 includes a specific requirement for the State Board of Education to adopt revised social studies standards, which was not mentioned in the previous draft. Additionally, the language emphasizing the negative impact of communism and the historical atrocities associated with it remains, but some phrasing has been streamlined. This change is important because it formalizes the educational guidelines that will frame how students learn about these historical events, potentially shaping future discussions and understanding of communism in schools.
