None Explanation The bill requires the Office of Workforce Strategy to identify additional career training opportunities requiring a maximum of one year of training and expands the Connecticut Career Accelerator Program to those training opportunities.
The bill could result in increased or more rapid use of the General Obligation (GO) bond authorization for Connecticut Career Accelerator Program, which is partially supported by GO bond funds.
Future General Fund debt service costs may be incurred sooner under the bill to the degree that it causes authorized GO bond funds to be expended or to be expended more rapidly than they otherwise would have been.
As of March 1, 2023, there is $5 million in unallocated bond balance available for the Connecticut Career Accelerator Program.
No allocated to date has been provided to the program.
The bill does not change GO bond authorizations relevant to the program.
The Out Years The annualized ongoing fiscal impact identified above would continue into the future subject to inflation.
