The bill modifies the term limits for board members of waste management districts in counties with consolidated local governments, allowing them to serve temporarily beyond their official term until a successor is appointed.

  • KRS 109.115

Notwithstanding KRS 65.008, → Notwithstanding KRS 65.008, a member serving on a board of directors in a county containing a consolidated local government may serve until his or her successor is appointed and qualified, not to exceed sixty (60) days after the expiration of his or her term, after which time the member's board position shall become vacant until a successor is appointed and qualified.

This change allows board members in consolidated local governments to continue serving temporarily for up to 60 days after their term ends, in contrast to the previous requirement for immediate succession.

  • KRS 65.008

Notwithstanding KRS 65.008, a member serving on a board of directors in a county containing a consolidated local government may serve until his or her successor is appointed and qualified, not to exceed sixty (60) days after the expiration of his or her term, after which time the member's board position shall become vacant until a successor is appointed and qualified.

This additionally delineates that the provision allowing temporary service applies specifically to members in counties with consolidated local governments.
