(e) "Paid parental leave" means a paid leave of absence provided to a parent employed by the Commonwealth for time off work for the birth, surrogacy, adoption, foster care placement, or kinship care placement of a child.

"Paid parental leave" means a paid leave of absence provided to a parent employed in a full-time classified position in state service for time off work for the birth, adoption, foster care placement, or kinship care placement of a child.

(4) An eligible employee may take up to four (4) weeks of paid parental leave for the birth or adoption of a child, or up to two (2) weeks of paid parental leave for foster care placement or kinship care placement of a child.
(6) If both parents are classified employees, both parents are eligible for paid parental leave pursuant to subsection (4) of this section.

(8) Paid parental leave shall be used within six (6) months following the birth, surrogacy, adoption, foster care placement, or kinship care placement of a child.
