Paragraph (d) of subsection (3) of section 320.08056, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:

Paragraph (d) of subsection (3) of section 320.08056, Florida Statutes, is amended, and paragraphs (z), (aa), and (bb) are added to subsection (4) of that section, as amended by HB 1135, 2020 Regular Session, to read:
If a request is made for a specialty license plate to replace a current valid license plate, the specialty license plate must be issued with appropriate decals attached at no tax for the plate, but all fees and service charges must be paid.

hb0387-01-c1 F L O R I D A H O U S E O F R E P R E S E N T A T I V E S CS/HB 387 2020 a request is made for a specialty license plate to replace a current valid license plate, the specialty license plate must be issued with appropriate decals attached at no tax for the plate, but all fees and service charges must be paid.
If a request is made for a specialty license plate at the beginning of the registration period, the tax, together with all applicable fees and service charges, must be paid.
(4) The following license plate annual use fees shall be collected for the appropriate specialty license plates:
(z) Auburn University license plate, $50.
(aa) University of Georgia license plate, $50.
(bb) University of Alabama license plate, $50.
This act shall take effect October 1, 2020.
This act shall take effect on the same date that HB 1135 or similar legislation takes effect, if such legislation is adopted in the same legislative session or an extension thereof and becomes a law.
