F L O R I D A H O U S E O F R E P R E S E N T A T I V E S HBCS/HB 93 2026 A bill to be entitled An act relating to protection from surgical smoke;
requiring hospitals and ambulatory surgical centers to, by a specified date, adopt and implement policies requiring the use of smoke evacuation systems duringor certainany surgicalother procedures;appropriate measure under certain circumstances;
(a) "Smoke evacuation system" means equipment that effectively captures,captures filters, and eliminatesfilters surgical smoke at the site of origin before the smoke makes contact with the eyes or respiratory tracttracts of occupants in the room.
(2) By January 1, 2027, each licensed facility shall adopt Page 1 of 2 CODING:
