Plain-language change summary

The latest version of Bill HB 683 has shifted its focus from proposing licensure for dental therapists to requiring the Department of Health to conduct a study on the affordability and access to dental care in Florida. This change is significant because it aims to address broader systemic issues in dental care delivery, including disparities in access for underserved populations. By directing state resources to research and policy development, the bill aims to create more effective solutions to improve oral health outcomes for all residents.
