Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Bill HB 6575 shifts the focus from requiring the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection to review each municipality's active shooter response plan to developing standards for those plans instead. Additionally, it allows for the department to assist municipalities in creating tailored plans upon request rather than mandating them to submit their plans for review. This change matters because it gives municipalities more flexibility and support in creating responsive strategies, which could lead to more effective and practical solutions for handling active shooter situations.
