Plain-language change summary

The revised version of Bill HB 7394 has clarified the definition of "confidential communications" between first responders and peer support team members. The new language emphasizes that records must relate specifically to the responder's participation in the peer support program. Additionally, the bill now ensures that the privilege of confidentiality cannot be waived unless the first responder chooses to do so. These changes are important because they strengthen the confidentiality protections for first responders seeking support, fostering a safer environment for them to seek help without fear of repercussions.
