Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill HB 5437 clarifies definitions and the scope of the job creation incentive tax credit program. It specifies that a "taxpayer" must be in business for at least twelve consecutive months and fills out more details on what constitutes an "income year" and a "new job." Additionally, it standardizes the terminology related to the tax credits by removing some references to specific chapters, making the provisions apply uniformly to different taxes. This matters because it ensures a clear understanding of eligibility and conditions for businesses seeking these tax credits.
