Plain-language change summary

The amendment to SB 499 removes the threshold for contributions to certain candidate and exploratory committees and political committees, specifically the phrase "that separately, or in the aggregate, exceeds fifty dollars." This means that all contributions, regardless of amount, must now provide the contributor's employer information, their status as a lobbyist or state contractor, and a certification confirming they are eligible to contribute. The change is significant because it expands reporting requirements for all contributions, enhancing transparency in campaign financing.
