Plain-language change summary

The amendment adds the phrase "and such taxpayer shall be allowed a deduction from such taxpayer's adjusted gross income, for purposes of the tax imposed under chapter 229 of the general statutes," clarifying the type of income from which the deduction applies. It retains the original provision allowing a deduction at the rate of two hundred percent of the contribution made. This adjustment specifies that the deduction is taken from adjusted gross income, which may affect how taxpayers calculate their tax liabilities.
