Plain-language change summary

The amendment to SB 338 establishes a "community investment account" within the General Fund and outlines how its funds will be allocated every three months. Notable changes include adding provisions for auditing the expenditure of funds by lake authorities and granting funds for controlling invasive species in lakes. Additionally, specific funding amounts for various agricultural and preservation programs have been detailed, emphasizing support for local agriculture and historic preservation initiatives. This structured allocation and oversight could enhance the effectiveness and accountability of fund distribution related to community investments.
