Plain-language change summary

The bill now includes specific provisions that extend coverage under the Connecticut Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association Act. It clarifies that benefits are available to all beneficiaries, assignees, and payees of policies, regardless of residence, if certain conditions are met. Additionally, the changes delineate how the association's liabilities are calculated and clarify that the association's obligations cease when coverage is replaced by another policy. This matters because it enhances the clarity of coverage provisions and potentially broadens the scope of beneficiaries eligible for assistance under the act.
