Plain-language change summary

The revised version of the bill SB 343 focuses solely on the effects of climate change on the safety plans of certain chemical facilities in the state, removing any reference to residents of distressed municipalities. Additionally, the section that proposed establishing a Climate Justice Working Group to address the impacts of climate change on these communities has been eliminated. This change means the bill no longer includes provisions aimed at studying or reporting on the disproportionate effects of climate change on specific populations.
