What changed in the latest version
23 added · 7 removedPlain-language change summary
The updated bill now requires the Insurance Commissioner to consider affordability when reviewing individual and group health insurance policy premium rate filings. This change adds "unaffordable" to the standards by which rates can be disapproved. Additionally, it specifies that premium rates must be approved by the commissioner and be deemed affordable, which influences the review process for health insurance policy approvals. These amendments establish clearer guidelines for assessing the affordability of health insurance rates.
