The amendment changes the legal age for purchasing tobacco products from eighteen to twenty-one years old. It requires notices to be posted at points of sale, including vending machines, informing consumers about this age requirement and related penalties for violations. Additionally, the amendment clarifies that certain exceptions apply, such as for individuals who are active members of the armed forces or who were eighteen years old before October 1, 2017. This change affects how distributors and dealers must communicate the rules regarding tobacco sales to consumers.
