The amendment to the bill specifies that a "clinical peer" involved in a clinical peer review must be a licensed physician or health care professional in the same specialty that typically manages the condition or treatment being reviewed. Additionally, it outlines specific credentials required for clinical peers handling reviews related to child and adolescent or adult substance use disorders and mental disorders. This means that the qualifications for professionals conducting these reviews are more clearly defined, ensuring expertise relevant to the specific cases.
