Plain-language change summary

The amendment to SB 428 modifies section 18-98e of the general statutes by allowing certain individuals sentenced for crimes on or after October 1, 1994, to earn risk reduction credit toward a reduction of their sentence. Specifically, it specifies that individuals convicted of specific serious offenses, such as violent crimes or sexual offenses, remain ineligible for such credits. This change redefines the eligibility criteria under which inmates can reduce their sentences through good behavior or participation in certain programs.
