Plain-language change summary

The bill SB 726 changes the wording related to compensation limits for victims of crime, specifically raising the compensation limit for sexual assault victims from $15,000 to $25,000. It also clarifies enforcement procedures for financial obligations ordered in restitution cases, replacing terms like "judgment creditor" and "judgment debtor" with "party or entity seeking enforcement of such judgment" and "offender" for consistency. These changes aim to streamline the process for enforcing court-ordered restitution and ensure that victims receive the specified compensation.
