The changes in the bill HB 7258 include the addition of a provision that allows individuals who believe they have been victims of racial profiling or other discriminatory practices to file a complaint with the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities. It also updates the requirements for police departments to electronically record traffic stop information, including details on the stop and a printed receipt with instructions for filing a complaint, which must be provided in English and Spanish. These adjustments aim to enhance the documentation of traffic stops and ensure that motorists are informed of their rights if they feel discriminated against during such stops.
