Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill HB 7310 changes the classification of offenses related to patronizing a prostitute based on the age of the individual involved. Specifically, it establishes that if the other person is sixteen or seventeen years old, patronizing is a class C felony, and if the person is under sixteen, it is elevated to a class B felony. It also adds that individuals convicted of multiple offenses for patronizing a prostitute must register as a sexual offender. These changes affect the legal consequences for soliciting sexual conduct, particularly in cases involving minors and victims of trafficking.
