The recent changes to Bill SB 953 involve modifications to the in-service training program required for teachers, administrators, and pupil personnel. Notably, the requirements related to the growth and development of exceptional children, as well as other training topics, have been removed. Instead, the focus shifts to include the detection and recognition of dyslexia and evidence-based structured literacy interventions.
