The amendment to SB 950 removes the requirement that applicants for an initial educator certificate in vocational-technical schools complete eight years of employment experience, reducing it to five years. This experience can include up to five years of apprenticeship or specialized schooling. The change is significant as it lowers the experience threshold for teacher certification in this area. Additionally, the amended text includes a provision for the Department of Education to provide guidance on the application process for these applicants.
