The amendment to SB 979 adds provisions allowing victims of protective orders and protected witnesses to request that the court clerk send a copy of such orders to their schools or institutions of higher education. This change ensures that relevant educational authorities are notified of the protective measures in place for individuals enrolled in their programs, which can aid in their safety and support. Additionally, the amendment clarifies that the clerk must send this information via facsimile or other means, helping to streamline communication with law enforcement and educational institutions.
