Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill SB 922 allows temporary health care structures to be installed as accessory uses in single-family residential zoning areas if the lot is owned by a caregiver or a person who is mentally or physically impaired. It specifies that municipalities can require a permit for these structures, imposes a maximum fee for that permit, and sets a timeline for permit approval or denial. Additionally, municipalities can opt out of these provisions through a voting process. These changes provide clearer regulations and structures for installing temporary health care setups, impacting how such facilities can be integrated into residential areas.
