The updated bill, HB 4, includes a new requirement that any unspent money from the Behavioral Health Program Fund must go back to the Health Care Affordability Fund at the end of each fiscal year. This change aims to ensure that funding for affordable healthcare remains adequate by redirecting unused funds rather than allowing them to sit idle. This matters because it helps to enhance financial efficiency and ensures that resources are available for pressing health care needs.
