The bill has been updated to specifically request that certain state agencies help organize a workshop focused on insect identification, ecology, monitoring, and management, as well as educating the public about the importance of insects. This change is important because it emphasizes not only the ecological significance of insects but also addresses public misconceptions, helping to foster a better understanding of these creatures and their vital roles in the ecosystem. This approach aims to promote biodiversity and enhance environmental awareness among New Mexicans.
