This bill died with 2019-2020 Regular Session. It reached “In Committee” and never advanced before the session ended, so it can no longer move — a new version would have to be reintroduced in the current session.
This bill is no longer active — its legislative session has ended, so there is no live prognosis. It would have to be reintroduced in the current session to move again.
Summary
Under existing law, a measure may be placed on the ballot at a district election by a petition signed by the requisite number of voters or by the governing body of the district. Whenever a district measure is submitted to the voters at a district election, existing law requires the county counsel or district attorney of the county to prepare an impartial analysis of the measure showing the effect of the measure on existing law and the operation of the measure. This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to the latter provision.
