Summary
Existing law requires a person engaged in a trade or business, or a supervised financial organization, that negotiates primarily in one of specified languages other than English in the course of entering into certain contracts or agreements to deliver to the other party a translation of the contract or agreement into the language other than English, as specified. This bill would also require a person engaged in a trade or business, or a supervised financial organization, to provide a translation of a contract or agreement to a consumer who primarily speaks one of specified foreign languages if the transaction is negotiated in English by a minor on behalf of the consumer.
