The amendment to LB 135 changes the timing and procedures for when school bond issues can be voted on. Now, these votes can occur either during major statewide elections or on specific odd-numbered year dates. This change is important because it aims to increase voter participation by aligning these important decisions with times when more people are likely to be voting, thus ensuring that community voices are heard in funding educational initiatives.
