Plain-language change summary

The amended version of Bill LB 640 updates the rules regarding sentence reductions for good behavior in jails. Now, after 15 days of confinement, inmates can have their remaining sentences reduced by one day for every day they follow the rules and do not engage in any misconduct. This change matters because it encourages positive behavior among inmates and can lead to shorter jail time for those who demonstrate good conduct. Overall, it's an effort to promote rehabilitation rather than just punishment.
