The amendment to Bill LB 399 clarifies and updates how property tax rates are set by mutual finance organizations in Nebraska. Specifically, it specifies that these organizations must agree on a maximum property tax rate, which all members must adhere to in order to ensure fair funding for their joint operations. This change is important because it promotes transparency and consistency in property tax levies, helping municipalities work together more effectively while providing clear rules for funding.
