The amendments to Bill LB 230 introduce the Kratom Consumer Protection Act, which includes new regulations regarding the sale of kratom and nitrous oxide products. Key changes include defining what makes a product attractive to children and establishing penalties for violations. This matters because it helps ensure that products are not marketed in ways that might endanger children, promoting public health and safety. Additionally, the bill clarifies the role of the Department of Revenue in enforcing these regulations and emphasizes the state's commitment to regulating potentially harmful substances.
