Plain-language change summary

The amendments to Bill LB 798 primarily adjust how planning commissions are structured within second-class cities and villages in Nebraska. Specifically, the bill clarifies the composition of the planning commission, ensuring it includes a diverse range of professions relevant to the community. Additionally, it allows second-class cities to elect some of their council members by ward, which could enhance local representation. These changes may help improve decision-making by incorporating broader community input and ensuring that elected officials are more closely aligned with the specific needs of the neighborhoods they serve.
