The recent amendment to Bill SB 89 clarifies who qualifies as "authorized users" of the overdose information network. It specifically includes EMS providers, alongside law enforcement officers, who are required to report overdoses to the system. This change is important because it ensures that a broader range of first responders is involved in managing overdose incidents, potentially leading to quicker and more effective responses to these emergencies.
