Updating Breast Cancer Screening Coverage
Bill Text
What changed in the latest version
184 added · 185 removedPlain-language change summary
The latest version of Bill SB 88 adds a requirement for insurance providers to cover all costs of mammograms for women aged 40 and older, and also allows for coverage based on a doctor's recommendation for women under 40. This change ensures that women have better access to necessary breast cancer screening, which is crucial for early detection and treatment. By standardizing this requirement across various insurance policies, the bill aims to improve health outcomes for women and potentially reduce long-term healthcare costs related to cancer treatment.
