Plain-language change summary

The bill SB 64 has updated the definition of "veteran" to clarify who qualifies as a veteran for the purposes of the law. The previous definition included service members who were discharged under conditions other than dishonorable, but the revised version specifies that it includes those who served on active duty in the armed forces, the Reserves, and the National Guard. This change matters because it ensures a more precise understanding of veteran status, which could impact eligibility for benefits and programs, especially those related to veteran-owned businesses.
