The department shall collect an annual royaltyroyaltyfee fee of twenty-five dollars that shall be disbursed in accordance with Subsection E of this Section.

This fee shall beinadditiontothestandardmotorbein vehiclelicensetaxaddition imposedbyArticleVII,to thestandardmotor vehiclelicensetaximposedbyArticleVII, Section 5 of the Constitution of Louisiana, and a handling fee of three dollars and fifty cents for each plate to be retained by the department to offset a portion of administrative costs.

Creates the "Louisiana Dental Hygienists' Association" special prestige license plate and provides for the issuance, design, implementation, fees, distributions, and promulgation of rules applicable to these license plates.

1192 Proposed law requires that the Dept.

of Public Safety and Corrections (DPS&C), office of motor vehicles (OMV), issue a special prestige license plate to be known as the "Louisiana Dental Hygienists' Association" license plate, provided that there is a minimum of 1,000 applicants for such plates.

Proposed law establishes that the plate may issued, upon application, to any citizen of Louisiana.

Proposed law specifies that the plate is restricted to use on passenger cars, pickup trucks, recreationalvehicles,motorcycles,andvans.

FurtherdirectstheDP&S,OMV,tocreatethe specialprestigelicenseplatewhentheapplicablestatutoryprovisionsaremetandthedept.'s electronic vehicle and registration system is updated to accommodate the creation of new plates.

Proposed law requires the design include the words "Louisiana Dental Hygienists' Association"and"RegisteredDentalHygienist".

Furtherrequiresthatasymbolrepresenting the Louisiana Dental Hygienists' Association appearon the left portion of the plate;

that the letters "RDH" appear vertically in the center portion of the plate followed by four alpha- numeric digits for registration purposes;

and that the plate will be white and light purple.

Proposed law specifies that the plate will be issued, upon application, to any citizen of the state in the same manner as anyother motor vehicle license plate.
