photograph, signature of licensee,licensee,anatomical anatomical gift statement, declaration of life-sustaining procedures, interest in bone marrow donation, and additional information on license * * * B.(1)(a) The Department of Public Safety and Corrections shall give the widest possible dissemination to the anatomical donation program relating to eyes, kidneys, entire bodies, etc., and shall make whatever provisions are feasible and desirable,throughitsdriverslicensingexaminingoffices,todesirable,throughits enablepersonsdesiringdriverslicensingexaminingoffices,toenablepersonsdesiring to make such anatomical donations to confirm their desires and intentions through the use of suitable documents to be maintained and issued in all driver's license Page 1 of 54 Coding:

(c) If the applicant elects not to execute an anatomical gift statement at the time of application, the statement shall remain blank when presentedtopresented to the licensee so it can be executed by the licensee at anytime after the license is issued.
TheDepartmentofPublicSafetyandCorrectionsshallmakeprovisions through its driver's license examining offices that enable persons desiring to makemakeanatomicaldonations anatomicaldonations toconfirmtheirdesiresand intentionsintentionsthroughthe through the use of suitable documents to be maintained and issued in all driver's license examiningoffices.Thedepartmentshallprovidetoeachapplicantforadriver's license or identification card information presented in equivalent form and manner, without characterization, recommendation, or emphasis favoring authorization or refusal, regarding the option to make or refuse an anatomical gift, and shall provide the applicant the opportunity to indicate authorization Pagefor 2an ofanatomical 5gift, Coding:refusal to make an anatomical gift, or no selection.

If any provision or item of this Act, or the application thereof, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions, items, or applications of the Act whichPage can3 be given effect without the invalid provision, item, or application and to this end the provisions of this4 ActCoding: are herebydeclared severable.
Section 4.
This Act shall become effective on June 1, 2027.

1:13(B) and 24:177(E)] DIGEST SB 252 Reengrossed 2026 Regular Session Pressly Present law provides for the Dept.
of Public Safety (DPS) to give information relating to anatomicaldonationsrelatingtoeyes,kidneys,andentirebodies.Proposedlawprovidesthe information is provided and presented in a manner without characterization, recommendation,oremphasisfavoringauthorizationorrefusal,regardingtheoptiontomake or refuse an anatomical gift, and must provide the applicant the opportunity to indicate authorizationforananatomicalgift,refusaltomakeananatomicalgift,ornoselectionatall, in addition, no applicant can be required to make a selection as a condition of issuance or renewal of a driver's license or identification card.
Present law provides information for an anatomical gift statement indicating the organs donatedforthepurposeoftransplantationortransplantationresearch,aspaceforindicating anylimitation or special wish of the donor, and the signature of the donor and the witnesses to the signature of the donor must be made available free of charge to applicants for a driver's license.
Present law furtherprovides DPS will promulgaterules relative to the form and maintain the form on file with the department.
Proposed lawretainspresentlawand adds the provision for the applicant to have the option to make an anatomical gift for transplantation or transplantation research, refusal to make an anatomical gift or to not make a selection at all including any limitations or special instructions.
Presentlawprovidesiftheapplicantelectsnottoexecuteananatomicalgiftstatementatthe time ofapplication,thestatementwill remainblankwhen presentedto the licenseeso it can be executed by the licensee at any time after the license is issued and no other form or statementshallberequiredforthepurposeofprovidingforthedonationoforgans.Proposed lawprovidesifanapplicantmakesnoselectionatthetimeofapplicationorrenewalthatthe absence of a selection does not infer authorization or refusal and does not revoke previous authorization.
Proposed law provides for severability.
Effective June 1, 2027.
