What changed in the latest version

The updated version of Bill HB 437 clarifies the definition of "pecuniary interest" and specifies when a witness cannot qualify as an expert due to financial interests in the outcome of a case. It adds details on what constitutes a pecuniary interest, excluding certain conditions like small ownership stakes and employment details. These changes are significant because they aim to ensure that expert witnesses remain impartial and that their potential biases are better understood, which can lead to fairer legal proceedings.
