For the purposes of this Part, domestic abuse shall also include any act or threat to act that is intended to coerce, control, punish, intimidate, or exact revenge on the other party,forthe purpose of preventingthe victim from reportingto law enforcementor requesting medical assistance or emergency victim services, or for the purpose of depriving the victim of the means or ability to resist the abuse or escape the relationship.

1:13(B) and 24:177(E)] DIGEST SB 347 Reengrossed 2026 Regular Session Barrow Present law (17:3399.12) provides for the following definitions relative to the Campus Accountability and Safety Act:
"Chancellor", "Confidential advisor", "Employee", "Institution", "Power-based violence", "Responsible employee", "System president", and "Title IX coordinator".
Proposed law retains present law but changes the definition of "power-based violence" to mean conduct intended to control, coerce,harm, exploit or intimidateanotherpersononthe basis of sex through the assertion of power or authority.
Proposed law provides that "power-based conduct" includes any conduct prohibited by present law providing for unlawful deepfakesand unlawful dissemination or sale of images of another created by artificial intelligence, or any succeeding statue that involves media generated by artificial intelligence or deepfake media depictingsexual imagery.
