606 Proposed law modifies present law by specifying that operations of a personal delivery device is treated the same as a pedestrian or bicyclist.

Present law provides specifications for operation of the devices relative to traffic and compliance with regulations.

Proposed law retains the specifications of present law but adds provisions for operation within a pedestrian or nonpedestrian area.

Presentlawallowsforlocalprohibitionsofpersonaldeliverydevicesintheinterestofpublic safety.

Proposed law changes the provision from a prohibition against to the regulation of personal deliverydevicesin the interest of public safetyprovided the regulations arenot inconsistent with present law.
