Plain-language change summary

The key change in the updated version of the resolution is the addition of specific reasons highlighting the significance of the Atchafalaya Basin and the issues surrounding its water quality. The added lines emphasize the ecological, economic, and cultural importance of the basin, detailing how sediment accumulation and changes in water flow can harm its health. This matters because it provides a clearer context for the legislative committee's work, ensuring that lawmakers understand the critical issues affecting this vital resource and can make informed recommendations for its preservation and improvement.
