Plain-language change summary

The amended version of HB 902 introduces a new definition for "adverse childhood events" (ACEs) and clarifies its scope, emphasizing the inclusion of domestic violence and chronic instability as significant factors affecting children. It also expands the language regarding "child education personnel" to ensure it covers all relevant staff in public schools. These changes matter because they aim to strengthen trauma-informed training for educators, ensuring that they are better equipped to recognize and address the impacts of trauma in students, ultimately fostering a safer and more supportive learning environment.
